8. William FELL; Don't know if James Fell was the father of Willaim Fell or his brother? Wm Fell died on 10APR1881, 72 years old (from gravestone) which would indicate that he was born circa 1809. However, Wm Fell, in 1850 census, showed age which would indicate he was born circa 1811.

The 1850 census shows he was farmer

Cedar Springs cemetery has two more Fells- Frances Saphira Fell d.5APR1925 and Annie Talulah Fell d.19MAR1911. Who are they, other children?

Don't know if James Fell , born 1791 (or 1796) was William's brother or father. He was born between 1809 and 1811. He married Saphira ATKINS, daughter of Thomas ATKINS and Eve FELTMAN, circa 1829. He was buried in Apr 1881 at Cedar Springs Cemetery, Verdery, Greenwood County, SC. He died on 10 Apr 1881 at Verdery?, Greenwood County, SC.

9. Saphira ATKINS. Her married name was FELL. She According to her gravestone, Saphira died on 14FEB1891 and was 86 yrs old, which would mean she was born circa 1805. Howver, the 1850 Census gave her age which would indicate she was born 1812. She was also known as Sophia. She was born circa 1805 Birth date is based on gravestone age. She married William FELL, son of James FELL, circa 1829. She was buried in Feb 1891 at Cedar Springs Cemetery, Verdery, Greenwood County, SC. She died on 14 Feb 1891 at Verdery, Greenwood County, SC.

10. Thomas Jefferson DOUGLAS(S) 1. TJ>Douglass owned grist mill on upper long cane creek, started before the Rev War by George Reid 2.Later Douglass and Dr. W.C.Norwood of Cokesbury owned mill at site of Ware Shoals 3. Had 8 children with Emily Jane Atkins (4 died young), Had 4 children by Matilda Lomax. He was born circa 1808. He married Matilda Dilworth LOMAX circa 1843. He married Emily Jane ATKINS, daughter of Samuel ATKINS and Ann KENNEDY, circa 1850. He died circa 1871.

11. Emily Jane ATKINS. Her married name was DOUGLAS(S). She married Thomas Jefferson DOUGLAS(S), son of Archibald DOUGLAS(S) and Elizabeth COCHRAN(E), circa 1850.

12. Ferguson Alexander 'Foggy' FLEMING was born on 20 Jan 1847. He married Esther Emeline CRAWFORD, daughter of John Alexander CRAWFORD and Janie MCWILLIAMS, on 1 Nov 1865 Marriage performed by Rev George Allen. He was buried in Dec 1925 at Little Mountain Cemetery, Antreville, SC. He died on 22 Dec 1925 at Antreville, Abbeville County, SC, at age 78.

13. Esther Emeline CRAWFORD. Her married name was FLEMING. She was born on 17 Apr 1841. She married Ferguson Alexander 'Foggy' FLEMING, son of Lawrence 'Green' FLEMING and Sarah (Sally) MCMAHAN, on 1 Nov 1865 Marriage performed by Rev George Allen. She was buried circa 1931 at Little Mountain Cemetery, Antreville, SC. She died on 24 Feb 1931 at Lowndesville, Abbeville County, SC, at age 89.

George Washington MILFORD In his father's bible record, he was noted as George Watt Milford, yet in other Milford family papers and genealogy records, he was known as George Washington Milford. *George W. Milford was a qualified confederate soldier, documented in the SC state confederacy records and on the United Daughters of Confederacy application on file for Mary Louise McPhail Standaert, dated 28 Jun 1975, Secession Chapter 2163, Abbeville SC. He served with Company G, 1st SC regiment, Orr's Rifles. He enlisted at Anderson District on July 20, 1861 at age 23. He was wounded on 14 Jul 1863 in Virginia and last appeared on the roll in Nov/Dec 1864. He was born on 29 Dec 1834 at Antreville, Abbeville County, SC. He married Nancy Alcanza BRANYON, daughter of Reuben BRANYON and Elizabeth Lavernia SHIRLEY, circa 1867 at Antreville, Abbeville County, SC. He was buried in Feb 1921 at First Creek Baptist, Antreville, SC. He died on 6 Feb 1921 at Antreville, Abbeville County, SC, at age 86.

15. Nancy Alcanza BRANYON. Her married name was MILFORD. She Catherine Lukhard has more Branyon family information or reference to a book published about the Branyons. The 'History of Lowndesville' book listed Nancy as 'Nancy Alkanza', born 5 Aug, 1847. She was born on 5 Aug 1849 at Antreville, Abbeville County, SC. She married George Washington MILFORD, son of George MILFORD and Eleanor MILFORD, circa 1867 at Antreville, Abbeville County, SC. She died on 14 May 1910 at Antreville, Abbeville County, SC, at age 60.

20. Archibald DOUGLAS(S) 1. Graves on plantation of Major Joseph C. Logon, approx 1mi from town of Bradley (half way between bradley and Verdery). In pine thicket 200-300 yards left of highway from Verdery towards Bradley (Highway 221, 1 1/2 miles n of Bradley ?) 2. Boozers of Denmark, DAR through either James Douglas or father of Elizabeth Cochrane 3. See interesting story in Greenwood County Sketches, Pg 215 about the Douglas Signet ring and the inheritance of the city of Glascow. He married Elizabeth COCHRAN(E), daughter of Robert(?) COCHRAN(E). He married Unknown (DOUGLAS). He was born on 10 Mar 1770 at VA? He was buried in Mar 1815 at Verdery, Greenwood County, SC. He died on 27 Mar 1815 at Verdery, Greenwood County, SC, at age 45.

21. Elizabeth COCHRAN(E). Her married name was DOUGLAS(S). She married Archibald DOUGLAS(S), son of James (of Virginia) DOUGLAS. She 1. see notes for Archibald Douglas... buried near Verdery 2. Boozers of Denmark joined DAR through either James Douglas or Eliz Cochrane's father. She was born circa 1776 at Cokesbury?, SC. She died on 27 Sep 1809 at Verdery, Greenwood County, SC.

24. Lawrence 'Green' FLEMING 1. Lawrence Greenberry or Greenbury or 'Green' Fleming 2. Company F, 24th SC Infantry Regiment, Civil War, lists George Fleming, died 1865 Warren Fleming, died 1865 A.M. Fleming, surrendered 1865 Who?? brothers of F.A. Fleming??? He was born circa 1824. He married Sarah (Sally) MCMAHAN, daughter of Ferguson Alexander MCMAHAN, circa 1845.

25. Sarah (Sally) MCMAHAN. Her married name was FLEMING. She was born circa 1826. She married Lawrence 'Green' FLEMING circa 1845.

26. John Alexander CRAWFORD married Janie MCWILLIAMS. He married Rosa Etta MCALISTER. He was born on 8 Jul 1812 at Laurens, SC. He died circa 1891.

27. Janie MCWILLIAMS. Her married name was CRAWFORD. She married John Alexander CRAWFORD, son of William A. CRAWFORD and Esther MCWILLIAMS. She was buried at Providence Presbyterian Church, Lowndesville, SC. She was born circa 1816. She died circa 1851.

George MILFORD 1850 Abbeville Census shows: George, age 67, mason born NC Eleanor, age 60, born SC Rebecca, Age 30, MUTE Isabell E., age 23, MUTE John P., age 21, farmer Sarah, age 42??, related?? 3. Company F, 24th Inf Reg(SC) shows L.C.Milford died of disease, 1864 *My notes from First Creek Baptist cemetery indicate George was born 26 Jan 1789 (? error in notes or stone? 1783?) and died 03 Aug 1871. He is buried with wife Eleanor and Rebecca Phagen Milfors and Elizabeth Milford. He married Eleanor MILFORD, daughter of Thomas MILFORD and Eleanor JAMISON. He was buried at First Creek Baptist, Antreville, SC, My notes from Tombstone have birth as 1788. He was born on 8 Nov 1783 at NC. He died on 3 Aug 1871 at Abbeville County, SC, at age 87.

29. Eleanor MILFORD Eleanor, or Ellen, or Nellie was the daughter of John Milford's brother, Thomas Milford, and thus were first cousins. Tombstone in First Creek Baptist cemetery lists birth and death dates and lists as 'Wife of George Milford.' She married George MILFORD, son of John MILFORD Sr. and Mary FLEMING. She was buried at First Creek Baptist, Antreville, SC. She was born on 26 Jan 1789 at SC. She died on 7 Dec 1864 at age 75.

30. Reuben BRANYON 1. Listed in Tomstone Incriptions, Old Little River Church Abbeville, County, SC. Founded 1791. Young, Pauline 929.3757 Y78 1984 (Tampa Library) 2. Also listed are son Reuben, tons of Clinkscales, and Shirley's 3. Little River Church located on Hwy 24, near Hwy 59, norteast of Level Land,SC. Hwy 24 starts just north of Antreville and goes NE to Little River. He married Elizabeth Lavernia SHIRLEY, daughter of Nathaniel SHIRLEY and Nancy GRUBBS.

31. Elizabeth Lavernia SHIRLEY. Her married name was BRANYON. She married Reuben BRANYON, son of Thomas BRANYON and Sarah MCADAMS. She was born on 26 Feb 1823. She was buried in Oct 1853 at Little River, Abbeville County, SC. She died on 16 Oct 1853 at Abbeville, Abbeville County, SC, at age 30.

Pg 8, DAR Patriot Index 1980, Vol II, b cc1738, d1818 Listed as patriotic service, per Catherine Lukhard, he gave grain during the war in Newberry, SC DAR lead from: Catherine Lukhard, 4920 Bethlehem Rd, Richmond, VA 23230, 804-359-0482. He was born circa 1738 at VA. He married Jane YELDELL, daughter of Robert YELDELL and Phoebe (YELDELL). He died circa 1818.

37. Jane YELDELL. Her married name was ATKINS. She was born circa 1738 at WLS. She married Francis ATKINS.

52. William A. CRAWFORD 1. came from county Antrim, Northern Ireland in 1843, landed at Charleston traveled to Hamburg SC (now Augusta), then to Abbeville Cty by wagon train. 2. Brought wife and children, first wife died and buried at sea during emigration. 3. Married her cousin, Mary Lydia McWilliams 4. Had 17 children total, both wives 5. Once owned land where Kimball House, in Atlanta now stands and also in vincinity of Grant Park. He is buried in Decatur cemetery. He died at Decatur, GA. He married (Unknown) STUART. He was born circa 1765 at Raloo Parish, Antrim County, Ulster, IRL. He immigrated before 1810 to Laurens District, SC. He married Esther MCWILLIAMS, daughter of Alexander MCWILLIAMS, circa 1810.

53. Esther MCWILLIAMS. Her married name was CRAWFORD. She was born circa 1793. She married William A. CRAWFORD, son of John CRAWFORD and Jane ANNIE Lyle/, circa 1810.

56. John MILFORD Sr John was a Revolutionary War patriot. His grave in the First Creek Baptist Church, (Highway 28, North of Antreville) lists as 'John Milford I, Revolutionary soldier. 1760 (Ireland)-1837. Marker placed by Mount Ariel, SC Chapter DAR 3-069.' He married Rebecca PHAGEN. He was buried at First Creek Baptist, Antreville, SC. He was Farmer. He was Baptist. He was born in 1760 at Antrim County, IRL. He married Mary FLEMING, daughter of George FLEMING and Margaret (--?--), on 3 May 1783 at Rowan County, NC. He died in 1837 at Anderson County, SC.

57. Mary FLEMING. Her married name was MILFORD. She was Baptist. She was buried at First Creek Baptist, Antreville, SC. She was born in 1767 at Kent County, DE. She married John MILFORD Sr., son of Robert MILFORD and Margaret Mitchell BLAIR, on 3 May 1783 at Rowan County, NC. She died between 1793 and 1799.

58. Thomas MILFORD Thomas was a Revolutionary War patriot. His death is recorded in George Milford's bible (1783-1871). The family thinks that Thomas was George's father(?). The 1840 Abbeville Census shows a Thomas Milford, age 84, as Revolutionary War pensioner. He married Melinda Bailey RUSSELL. He was buried at First Creek Baptist, Antreville, SC. He was born circa 1757 at Antrim County, IRL. He married Eleanor JAMISON on 31 Jan 1780 at Rowan County, NC. He died on 14 Apr 1843 at Anderson County, SC.

59. Eleanor JAMISON. Her married name was MILFORD. She married Thomas MILFORD, son of Robert MILFORD and Margaret Mitchell BLAIR, on 31 Jan 1780 at Rowan County, NC.

106. Alexander MCWILLIAMS was born at Ulster, IRL. He died in Apr 1813 at Laurens, SC.

112. Robert MILFORD was Baptist. He Robert Milford and his first four sons were soldiers of the Revolution. (From Harold Milford, San Antonio, TX). He was Farmer. He married Rebecca WADSWORTH. He married Margaret Mitchell BLAIR at IRL. He was born in 1730 at Antrim County, IRL. He died between 1780 and 1800 at SC.

113. Margaret Mitchell BLAIR. Her married name was MILFORD. She was born at IRL. She Tradition tells us that Margaret Blair was a mute; an unusally beautiful woman and a splendid Christian character. *Some records list her only as Margaret Mitchell. She married Robert MILFORD, son of William MILFORD, at IRL. She died at SC.

Died in North Carolina. *Both of these two may NOT be sons of William, but they are relatives. BOTH were soldiers of the Revolution. *(From Harold Milford, San Antonia, TX). He was Farmer. He was Kirk Church. He was born circa 1700 at Tyrone And Antrim Counties, IRL.
